Schwanebeck

No. 68 of a hundred village churches to come... A church in Schwanebeck was mentioned in documents as early as 1179 as a branch church of the church in Niebede. The place, which fell into desolation at the end of the 14th century, was repopulated from the 16th century onwards. Around 1600 a new half-timbered church was built, which probably looked similar to the neighboring Markee village church.
