The opposite of negative is positive. Original XX negatives copied onto expired Kodalith 2556 orthochromatic graphic arts film, the result- very high contrast transparencies.

I love these "shadowy" images - still detailed enough to realise the dramatic actions in these scenes (at least for one who never stood on a surf board)

This is a great series, very much like lithographs again. Bloody good work mate.

@charliedontsurf I don't remember this. This is a really great action shot and I love all the spray. Did you print this on to the kodalith like a contact print? Or something more fancy. I have miles of color print film that I want to try printing to. I'm probably overthinking it though... lol

@mike1allison I seem to remember explaining the process on Flickr but here we go :)
I put the original negative over a light source and loaded the kodalith into a camera, mounted it in my copy stand. Shot it through a macro lens then developed in rodinal and scanned, inverted ,etc.
It was trickier than I expected to be honest, really hard to focus but quite a cool experiment, It would be fun to project it but alas...
    Thanks Mike.

@charliedontsurf What? Explain something to me twice? Sorry what were we talking about? LOL You probably did. I think in motion pictures the original is essentially contact printed onto the print film. But yes your process is the same as slide copying which is probably more effective albeit slower I guess. Getting the contact print film set up in the darkroom might be a bit messy and then the exposure, timing, etc. What is the EI of the Kodalith? 6 or so? WIth color print film being 1.3 to 3 I guess you could stare at it in room light while exposing it. LOL ok, not exactly... Thanks. I'm sure I'll ask again LOL
