When we were freer than we are today
This photo is the odd one out of the selection. It was taken at the famous "Rainow Bend" on the Cat and Fiddle Pass between Macclesfield and Buxton in the Peak District. Just before this photo was taken, an unfortunate rider on a GSXR 750 had come off on the bend, on a newly-laid surface of "Shell Grip" - that hadn't bedded in. There were no signs to warn riders. My mother, who was a witness, was furious, because the rider wasn't even going fast, clearly, the council were to blame. Despite her giving her details to the injured party (he was pretty badly hurt) he never got in touch to make a claim.
