Old Jewish Cemetery Schmieheim

I grew up near to this place without knowing anything about it. I remembered it and wanted to come back. Its oldest tombstone is from 1701 the most recent from 1941. Like many other Jewish property and the synagogue nearby it was vandalized by Nazis during November Progrom 1938. Today it is a visible document of the often hidden jewish history in Germany and also reminds on the ongoing threat of antisemitism.
