most familiar, rarely used
both my parents are former ORWO employees. i was raised surrounded my cameras, deveoping gears and chemicals, photographing, prints, photo albums etc. and by ihagee exa. my mom had an exa and so had my grandpa. i've got mine from a friend he bought it when he was stationed in germany an an u.s. marine. he gave it back to me and i was absolutely happy about it. it meant much to me because it was so familar to me at the one hand and because it was a sign for our friendship on the other hand. unfortunatly i learnt that the shutter was broken. i handed it to the local repair man, who made a good (but pricy) job. happily i took it on a hike but ended up dissapointed. today i know the dissapointment wasn't caused by the camera or lens but from the film i used. fomapan 400 is a bad bad film. grainy when underexposed, more grainy when overxposed, cannot handle a wide range of light conditions. i also used the wrong developer (rodinal) because i hadn't another in my house ... in the back of my head i blamed the camera, so it remained untouched for a long time in the vitrine. that needs to be changed.
