Hi! What do you do and what got you started with photography?

I'm a tattooist. I have many interests and photography is one of those.

How did you discover Lomography and what made you join our analogue Community? Who are your favorite photographers here?

My friend is a member of Lomography and he asked me to join. I like all the photographers here. I learn many things from them.

What is your favorite subject to photograph? What do you usually look for in a scene before you hit the shutter?

My favorite subject has to be nude. I look for nothing in a scene. I just let the emotion lead and take pictures.

In this day and age, why choose film?

I did not choose film, film chose me.

What does a perfect day look like for you?

With me, every day is perfect.

Hi! What do you do and what got you started with photography?

I'm a student. I study fine arts. I am studying in my hometown of Grodno. For the past two years, I have spent almost all my free time on film photography. I have studied photography before and tried to shoot, but September 2018 was a turning point.

How did you discover Lomography and what made you join our analogue Community? Who are your favorite photographers here?

While browsing the web, I discovered that old Soviet cameras are not that expensive, and I thought that I should try it. My first camera was a Zenith 12-SD. I fell in love with the results. I tried different film stocks, different cameras, and at the moment I have more than twenty of them. Now also have a Lomo LC-A, the camera of my dreams, I do not let it out of my hands these days.

I wasn't a fan of thinking through a frame, to stand next to a tripod for half an hour, waiting for perfect lighting. Every frame is beautiful. For a professional photographer, a small light leak is a ruined frame, for me, it is a treasure. That's why I'm attracted to the community of "happy accidents" fans.

From the day I received my first negatives, I decided to share my work. I've tried different platforms, but just recently I joined the Lomography community. Having received such positive feedback, I do not want to move to another place.

It is very difficult to choose a couple of names from my favorite photographers. To be honest, I like everything. I love to sit and look through photos of all these lovely people. So much creativity and experimentation, there is always something that you want to try yourself or do something that's similar. I guess I just can't see bad photos, I like everything. But I treat my photos differently.

What is your favorite subject to photograph? What do you usually look for in a scene before you hit the shutter?

I try everything, I want to find myself. I like street photography and portraits. Although sometimes I don't have the courage to approach people and ask them to take pictures of them. Now, due to the situation in the world, I love still lifes very much and I periodically take photos of them in my bathroom .:) In the future, I want to travel, visit new places, and then I will definitely have a camera with a fresh roll of film inside.

I usually look for interesting scenes. Color and composition are the main criteria. Knowledge in the visual arts is very helpful. Although it seems difficult to find something interesting when you have walked through your city, when you find it, you immediately want to take a photo.

In this day and age, why choose film?

In our time when there's a lot of monotonous photos, film is primarily an experiment since you do not always know what will happen. There are so many things you can come up with: film soup, caffenol, redscale, multiple exposures... Of course, this can be done with digital photos and in Photoshop but where's the fun in that? For me, film photography is what you do with your own hands. Sometimes a photo doesn't even seem interesting if there is no grain, a speck of dust, a scratch, or a light leak.

What does a perfect day look like for you?

The perfect day is when you have a camera in your hands. A day with family or friends. Then it doesn't matter what kind of lighting or whether it's day or night, rain or snow...
