   @frenchyfyl It's called bocce ball which is Italian. I did a Google translate for petanque and it comes back as "bowling". The goal of bocce ball is to get your ball closest to the target ball (the small white ball).

   @ksears119 yes, it's the same game, and exactly the same balls. In south of France, this game is very very famous. We all play "pétanque"! You can play it everywhere.
   Google makes a wrong translation. In french, bowling game is called... bowling.
