Hastings, East Sussex. An old town, gave name to the Battle of Hastings back in 1066. So, it's been there a while. Worth a visit due to its lovely location by the coast, architecture, the fishing port (the UK's largest beach based fishing fleet has its home here), and the opportunity to do long walks without getting bored. The knee of the Queen Victoria statue is damaged. In 1942 this happened by enemy aircraft fire.
