Ryman Auditorium

The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN was built in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle. It was renamed in honor of Thomas Ryman after his death. Ryman, a riverboat captain and saloon owner, donated the money to build the building. The Ryman Auditorium was the Grand Ole Opry's second longest home, from 1943 to 1974. The Ryman hosts many concerts and the Opry still visits.
