How do you make your birthday celebration truly epic? Take a trip to one of the premiere islands of your country with the love of your life. In my case, I flew to Puerto Princesa for some island hopping, R&R, and yes, canoodling.

Honda Bay is composed of several islets - 12km from Puerto Princesa City in a province called Palawan. In spite of its distance, it's only a one-hour plane ride away from the capital of the Philippines, Manila. Popularly known for its natural wonders, Palawan is a haven for both beach bunnies and photography enthusiasts, which is why a trip to this city is something that I couldn't pass on.

Just a one-hour plane ride from Manila is the island province of Palawan. Its capital is Puerto Princesa City (Princes of Ports). Palawan is known as the last frontier of the Philippines and is also known as the country's cleanest and greenest city.

A Secluded beach in Puerto Princesa. It is known as a jump off point from the city to the entrance of Subterranean River but if you'll explore further there are other caves, coral reef, waterfalls and mangrove forest that can be sighted here.

Starfish Island, with coral reefs breaking crystal clear water onto empty, fine white sand beaches and clear water that teems with starfish. The perfect place for "sun questers" and those who love to snorkel and go diving is Honda Bay. It is one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines comprised of several islets each uniquely named based on its appearance and on what its known for. Every tourist stop won't be complete if you wont be able to go island hopping here.
