Once on the ship the scientists that were active from the start were the bio-geo-chemists. They are meassuring the particles that are falling down from the water surface to the ocean ground, thus giving an estimation among others, how much CO2 is contained in the water body. One of their tools is a sediment trap. For one year a giant funnel is placed in the water column, collecting particles for every month. These sediment traps are captured and released every time the RV is making its trip to the Indian Ocean. A task phisically demanding and chief bio-geo-chemists Niko takes care that everything works in military chip-chop order....
First self developed slide film in cross process. The roll was expired and the deveploment kit was also expired so the results look medium quality enough :)
Apparently, film swaps with myself turn out weirdly unswappy. This was shot first in February 2022, with my Konica Autoreflex T3, and then a second time in December 2023, with my Nikon FM2. What you see here is the December exposure, with hints of the first rounds, few and far between. Having done many swaps with many people, this is a mystery
While on a trip to Rome, I used a Dubble Bubblegum film with my Canon F-1, and it turns out that I love a lot of the pictures that came out of it. If you don't know this film, it's a color 35mm film with an added tone, producing some sweet colors to spark your visual taste buds. I got it back in 2022 on a film package, and it took me a while to use, but it was worth the wait since the added tones were quite pleasant.
